Food Pantry
La Campagne Ministries continues to play a vital role in strengthening food security across Owen County through meaningful collaboration and community partnerships. At the heart of its mission is a commitment to ensuring that no individual or family goes without access to nutritious food. Through its food pantry, La Campagne Ministries maintains a flexible, appointment-based system that allows families to receive food with dignity and convenience. This personalized approach helps meet the unique needs of each household while ensuring consistent access to essential resources. In addition to its pantry services, La Campagne serves as the umbrella organization for the Spencer-Owen Community Schools Backpack Buddy Program. As an affiliate under the ministry, this program provides weekend meals to more than 300 students. These meals are critical for children who might otherwise face hunger outside of school hours. For many of these students, the food they receive through the program bridges a gap that would otherwise leave them without reliable meals until they return to school on Monday for free lunch. Responding to growing community needs, La Campagne Ministries also partnered with county commissioners to launch an emergency food pantry in November following the closure of one of Owen County’s largest food providers. This effort ensured that vulnerable families continued to have access to food during a time of uncertainty. Over the past year, the emergency pantry has distributed more than 5,600 pounds of food and served an average of 60 households each month. As La Campagne Ministries looks ahead, the commitment to fighting hunger in Owen County remains stronger than ever. The need is ongoing, and so is the resolve to meet it—ensuring that families, children, and individuals have consistent access to the food they need to thrive. Sustaining these efforts requires resources, and it costs approximately $150 each month to support the program, covering food share expenses, fuel for deliveries, administrative needs, and payroll. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference in continuing this mission. Donations are always appreciated and directly impact the ability to serve neighbors in need and build a stronger, healthier community.
